Phonemic Word Wall and working with words to build stronger patterning and identify words/chunks/blends/digraphs/vowel patterns
"Pass the pen" for writing--student begins writing, then passes the pen to the teacher or a peer to write as they create their story. Helps get children over that "hump" because often they can't think and write at the same time. Also gives the opportunity for revising as the peer or teacher reads the student's work aloud
